MCG Market Stall to help raise funds to build houses in Cambodia

Rather than go to Schoolies, at the end of 2013 Year 12 Mosman High students will travel to Cambodia to build houses for people in need through the Tabitha Foundation. They held a market at the end of last year to raise funds. MCG took the opportunity to have its own stall to support this great work, as well raise awareness about community gardening and sustainable living.

Beauty Point Public School Food Garden

A team of MCG members worked with enthusiastic Beauty Point Public School parents and students to build veggie gardens with materials donated by the National Parks and Wildlife Service. Around 50 people joined in. Below some photos of the November 2012 working bee.

We had a stall at the Cancer Council Relay for Life to help spread the word about healthy eating and growing your own vegetables.

The Big Lunch

For the past three years Mosman Community Gardeners has assisted the Mosman Home Gardeners Association organise the Big Lunch to help encourage the growing of edible plants. Everyone is invited to join in the community celebration and to bring food to share that includes something home grown, even if it is only a sprig of parsley!
